I set out to inspire Birch & Bunny brides and grooms who are dreaming up their own wedding themes.  I wanted this inspiration shoot to be rich and elegant, but to marry that sophistication with the natural beauty of the outdoors, hence a woodland glam theme.  To accomplish this, I choose a colour pallet of deep Marsala, bold berry hues, and accents of gold and bling.Wedding Decor CalgaryWhen Grace Kerr of Photographs by Grace came on board, I was thrilled by her enthusiasm for the concept! We had such a mild winter, but it was so windy that day (a severe wind warning was issued) that we almost blew away!Wedding Decor TableBeautiful flower garland, bouquet and floral crown were created by Occasional Bloom, using rich deep colours and  lush florals juxtaposed with curly willow branches for texture.Bride Flower CrownCake artist Handmade Cake Company crafted a semi-naked red velvet cake using all natural and preservative free ingredients.  It was garnished with persimmons, fresh berries, pomegranate seeds, as well as a sumptuous pavlova, and raspberry cream filled meringues.Naked Cake Woodland Glam Wedding

Marsala Macarons

Marsala has been announced as Pantone’s prediction for the colour of the year for 2015.  Compared to last year’s color Radiant Orchid, this year’s colour is a much more rich hue.  It’s deeper and pairs well with metallics.  **Just between us darling, that’s a little clue as to a certain wedding inspiration styled shoot that I may have in the works!

“This hearty, yet stylish tone is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty.” says Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of Pantone Color Institute.

Will you be incorporating this rich wine hue into your wedding colour pallet?  We’d love to hear from you!
